A native of Chicago, Mike moved to Florida in 2020 after living in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia.  Mike has over 15 years of experience working in legal services, including working at both small and large law firms. 

Mike has significant experience representing individuals and businesses in federal tax disputes.  He has represented taxpayers in numerous IRS audits, administrative appeals, and collection matters.  Mike also has experience litigating cases before the United States Tax Courts.  His Tax Court experience includes a range of different types of tax disputes, from smaller substantiation cases to complex partnership matters involving real estate investments and syndications.

Mike is also an experienced business and family counselor.  He has experience developing estate plans and advising  entrepreneurs and small businesses on various legal matters.

Mike was recognized in the inaugural 2022 edition of Best Layers: Ones to Watch in America in the area of Tax Law. He was recognized again in the 2023 and 2024 editions in the areas of Tax Law and Tax Litigation and Controversy.

Mike lives in Sarasota and is the proud husband of Lucy and loving father of two girls, Margaret and Caroline.  In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing golf, boating, and relaxing in the Florida sunshine.
